Kicks us off wifi nearly every evening, twice tonight. Getting sick of it!

Paying for a service that constantly fails restarting the box upto 4 times per evening just to get everything to reconnect. Tried the service checker it says everything looks good but shows no connected devices! What is going on sky it's very poor service!

No I use my app. That's what it's for isnt it? I dont need a test to tell me that its kicking us off every evening for the past 5 weeks maybe more every device disconnects and will not re connect until I restart my router I'm guessing they want me to upgrade as before I upgraded to ultra fast my speeds went absolutely abysmal but wow pay more and they opened the flood gates now trying to get me to upgrade to the wifi in every room and this crap starts happening! I am looking at other providers and weighing up my options as £37.50 for a service that's crap is is not cutting it if I upgrade like they are pushing £42.50 for a short period then full price (undisclosed) as if I have that kind of money I'm so mad been with sky so long now where is the loyalty to long term customers?????

@Medina do you want help or just to rant?

 

The My Sky app tests the line to the hub and shows the speed the hub connects at. If it finds a fault it can book an engineer to fix it. If the speed is below the guarantee for your line it can trigger a refund. 

A. Speed test app measures speed to the device so shows the slowest part of thst link which with wifi is frequently the wifi speed between the hub and your device. Wifi signals are affected by the layout and type of construction in your home and can be affected by interference from your neighbour's wifi networks. Sky cannot control any of that which is why like other ISPs you will find any wifi guarantees come with lots of small print.

 

You can forget conspiracy theories about Sky throttling your line as there is zero indeprndent evidence that they do that and the testing sites will know if they did. Forum members can give you expert advice on how to.sort issues. .
