Just had gigabit installed and only getting 30mb up and download

Why would.my new gigafast Internet only be running at 30mb up and download. It's marketed at 900mb

900Mbs on the optical cable as far as the router.  Rather less over WiFi from the Hub, down to zero Mbs in the other side of a few walls
