I have just had full fibre broadband installed and I want to run an ethernet cable to a garden room. What type of cable do I need? Is there a fibre optic ethernet cable or would conventional copper be ok?

@Snudge1 standard cat5e or better copper ethernet cable is good for 1Gb/s up to 100m so unless your garden is unusually large you dont need anything like fibre cable😀.
Use external grade cable if you are directly burying it in the ground which is usually Cat6 IIRC.

A 'full fibre' connection becomes ethernet on the other side of the ONT. While it's certainly possible to link buildings with optical cable, that would require reconverting to optical signalling using a GBIC-capable ethernet switch and then ordering pre-terminated optical fibre of appropriate length, and is almost always completely unnecessary in a domestic setting.
