@Highlinder wrote:@LGUserThe broadband engineer I had did scan the barcode on the ONT, it goes against the job number so that it can then activate it on their systems. Looks like that is what Openreach did for you today, but not sure when the information will go live for you.
I hope this week so I can book the appoinment or get the router sent out.
Do I need someone to come to do the setup or do I just get a router and only get someone out if I need help?

With an ONT in place and a successful order placed, it should be a simple self-install. Plug the Hub in (electrical socket) connect the WAN port to the ONT with an ethernet cable. Should be job done

Here is an update.
Fibre went live today so Sky can see it's there. I called Sky and have ordered Ultrafast Plus. That's the 500meg down package. I should get the modem/router on Friday ro Monday and the service should go live on the 14th. But I'll try plug in the rmodem/router before Wednesday in case it's live sooner.
So that's where we are now.

Now the next hassle is the Royal Mail. I don't know if Tracked 48 is going to be delayed or not due to the strike. If it is, I'd expect the rotuer on Tuesday.

I have the modem from Sky. I've plugged it in and am waiting the hour to see if it goes live. If not, I'll have to wait until Wednesday.
Do I need IPv6 for FTTP?

Another update. Fibre is now live. I wasn't expecting it until Wednesday.

The Hub may be configured for IPv6 by default and working if it's available for
you.

So far so good. I'll wait to see how the speed stabilises goes when it's 14 days past Wednesday.

There is no training period with FTTP so its hours to stabilise rather than days AFAIK.

FTTP doesn't have DLM, it's either on or off so whatever speed you have now probably won't change.
