Joining Sky Broadband, Openreach telling me a different date
Hi, I am joining sky broadband, activation date set for 20/12/24. Booked an engineer with sky to come out to activate. Received a text today that Openreach will be dealing with the activation and their engineer will be coming out.
shortly after, Openreach text me to confirm they will be coming on 07/01/25. I had already booked some time off work to make sure I was at the property on 20/12/24.
what is more confusing is my sky app is still saying 20/12/24.
So my question is, what date is the engineer coming out? If it is in January, am I going to be without WiFi all this time?

Re: Joining Sky Broadband, Openreach telling me a different date
@LC19 you need to check with Sky there could be 2 visits planned or just one. What looks certain is the service will not start until 7/1 unfortunately as the Openreach work is crtical. Reschuduling of fibre installs is a common issue you should be compensated for delayed provisioning as explained here Customer Auto-Compensation | Sky Help | Sky.com
