I moved at the start of the year from BT to EE and they are the same company, yet I still got billed twice.

 

You need to separate out the actual broadband switch and the account closure. BT backend systems are notoriously bad, but as soon as they took the Direct Debit I got on the phone and organised a refund and ensured an account closure.

 

You might not be able to prevent double billing (or a bit of crossover), but you will get your money back if it does happen. Worth making sure if you can that you have a little extra cash in your account as a buffer.

BT app is not working today. Seems like BT account is closed.  

It took BT broadband, 5 days to close my account.   

Will ring BT for final Bill hope its not to much.
