Issues Accessing Banking and Secure Apps Over Sky Broadband
Dear Sky Support,
I hope you’re well.
I’m currently experiencing issues accessing several banking and secure applications when connected to my Sky Broadband network. These apps work perfectly when using mobile data, but they fail to load or return security-related error messages (such as VPN or bot usage warnings) when connected to my home Wi-Fi.
This suggests that there may be restrictions or filtering mechanisms in place on my broadband connection — possibly related to DNS settings, content filtering (such as Broadband Shield), or the external IP address assigned to my connection.
Could you please assist by:
- Verifying whether there are any filters or restrictions enabled on my broadband service.
- Disabling any content filtering, if active.
- Providing a new external IP address, if possible, in case the current one is flagged.
Your support on this matter is highly appreciated, as it’s affecting access to important services.
Kind regards,
Yazeed.

Posting in this forum doesn't get your issue to Sky support. Sky Broadband Shield is under your own control, and a different IP address may be obtainable by switching your Hub off for one hour.
