Is this a scam, someone phoned re our Wi-Fi asking us to download an app from BT?

Someone phoned early this morning asking me to download an app re the Wi-Fi. He said he was from BT. Is this a scam ?

If you have Sky broadband there's no reason for BT to be calling you, so yes, very likely an attempt to scam you.

Typically their aim is to get remote access software installed, then convince the user to log into online banking on the same device to 'claim compensation' for 'slow broadband'.
