Is there anyway to get broadband installed quicker?

I have just recently moved house and have chosen to go with Sky Broadband but it says the closest date an engineer can get out to install is the 17th of July.

I currently need this urgently for work.

Is there anyway of speeding up this process as I feel that this is an usually long time to wait?

@KieranHealy  Unfortunately not you would have been given the first available date for your area

sky has no control over how long it takes open reach to commission a new line there hands are tied

@KieranHealy  Sadly yes as sky/openreach aren't going to know your personal circumstances

@KieranHealy

Heating (or presumably at this time of year hot water control) should have a local manual over-ride: reliance solely on a WiFi connection is extremely unwise.

Typically a long delay after moving house is because the new service can only be provisioned over FTTP which isn't already in place.

@KieranHealy  All irrelevent, even though broadband is heavily relied on, it is oddly not deemed a priority service unlike Electric & Gas, although in this day & age it should be.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.
