Please check the below images. Should i bother about installing ONT? In the socket it is also written as BT. Does that mean this works only for BT?

Looks like the top pic is an ONT. If it's an Openreach one, it'll work with any suppliers that use Openreach. The only bit that'll need swapping is the Router/Hub unless you have your own third party one.

The top photo is an ont . It would normally also have openreach on it. What does it say on the bottom left corner?
If you are getting fttp then the master socket in the bottom image will no longer work

Just for clarity, the top image is a plastic enclosure which hopefully contains an ONT and (possibly) a BBU (Battery Backup Unit)
The ONT is on the left, the BBU is on the right.
This was a deployment mode used earlier on in the national FTTP rollout: it's no longer done that way, but the ONT inside is still viable.

Personally I'd suggest opening the enclosure to check what's inside: post pictures if you'd like confirmation.

If the property is due to get a new FTTP installation, fitting an ONT is part of the process.
If you've moved in to find a previous occupant has removed the ONT from an existing FTTP installation then you'll need to notify Sky.
