I have been sent a new hub, for which I am grateful, however I am warned that I must not install it before the activation date. Said date cannot be found anywhere, certainly not where SKY say it should be. I am just a bit weary of games like "Hunt the vital information"

@ewobwomco frequent question while the packaging has thst warning it only applies for new installs you can swap the unit over whenever you want.
Answer to the question in the title to your thread no not in my experience I havechad far worse from other companies I deal with.
