Internet speed

Morning all, I continue to be frustrated with web speeds where I live.  My package with Sky guarantees a min speed of 15-23MB/s but only via their own speed checker.  So when I check the speed on a well known site, www.broadbandspeedchecker.co.uk it gives me down 2.77 Mb/s and 2.04Mb/s up and has done now for nearly 24hrs.  But when I check the connection via my account on the sky.com site it says its all fine and running at 23Mb/s which I know to be incorrect as I have 14 devices connected and doing video calls is a waste of time. 

Please advice if you can. thx

Are they back to within the first 2 figures on the bt wholesale checker on the vdsl row and between the 2 handback thresholds in the same vdsl rows. Maybe work was being carried out. Keep an eye out on

thanks for that, but unfortunately I dont seem to be able to get into my router, nearer the username: admin or the password they suggest using work.    Will try using the default passwords on the back of the router instead as I have changed them, so I must have got into the router at some stage to do that.

Will come back to you on this.

OK, I have now reset the router and viewed the stats and it seems to be back up to speed.  Odd, thanks though.

@mattxwadexUnfortunately Sky's router is not one of the best, the BT one may well have been better however none of the hub/routers supplied by broadband providers are no as good as the ones you can purchase.
