Internet light out after open reach messing about outside
Hi All,
I returned from holiday yesterday and the internet was working well in the house, but upon returning my partner noted there was a woman from open reach outside our house working on the box. When we first moved in, sky notified us that we had a brand new phone line, so we should have perfect signal. Since the woman was working on the box yesterday, the internet has now gone down. The internet light does not come on. We have changed the leads over, done all of the online tests, but it's still not working. We have a sky engineer booked in for the 18th May, however I am 99.9% certain they will come and find nothing they can repair, but will instead pass it onto open reach, does anyone know if there's anyway to bypass sky engineer and just get open reach straight out? As I know the visits can all take time to book in and my partner works for the government from home, sky mentioned compensation, however I am sure they won't compensate for the additional expenses of my partner having to drive back and fore the office, instead of working from home.
Thanks.

Re: Internet light out after open reach messing about outside
No there is no way to bypass it, Sky have to go through their own processes unfortunately.
You will indeed get compensation of £9.76 per working day after your service has been down for 2 full working days.
You are also correct that Sky will not compensate for any expenses for traveling to work or loss of earnings for not working since its not a business line nor do you have any guaranteed SLAs.
