Hi all,
New sky customer, having an absolute nightmare here so thought I'd post to see if anyone can help
Ive connected my router to my openreach ONT, ethernet cable is in the only port on the ONT and in port 4 (WAN) on the back of the router. LOS light is off and all other lights on ONT are green including LAN but the internet light on the router is not lighting up and I've currently got no internet. Spent hours on the phone to sky over past couple of days and nobody can seem to tell me why it's not working. Apparently it can't be escalated any further and I've now got to wait days for them to get back to me now. Been told on multiple occasions everything's active and it should be working fine but it isn't.
Am I missing something obvious here or anyone else had the same issue? I've followed the instructions down to a T, tried multiple Ethernet cables, reset router and ONT countless times etc

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Jbdixon94 for some rason the ONT is not receiving any light over your fibre connection that requires Openreach to check the connection from your external connection box, through the distribution point back to the exchange. Openreach fibre engineers are a scarce resource so you are waiting on that to happen. Sky are effictively powerless it will, take as long as it takes..
The welds that join fibre are a fiddly business and a few do fail. Making joints that require absolute cleanliness either up a pole or in a unit under the pavement in lousy weather is not a job I would fancy.

@Chrisee thank you for your response, I'm on a new build site and there's openreach vans all over it everyday of the week, I've spoken with them before as the LOS light was on the ONT last week, this was then rectified and it went off and the other lights were green as they should be and it's been like this ever since.
I will go speak with Openreach again today and see what they say
