Internet keep dropping out

Help, we seem to be having issues with the internet dropping out in the evenings.

It's causing a bit of friction in the household as my housemate is convinced I'm the cause of the problem by uploading large file for work!

Any ideas? Am I the route of the problem?

Hi @bloodyinternet

Your log does seem to show a connection drop, can you post your router stats as well so we can get an insight into whats going on.

Re: Internet keep dropping out

Hi @bloodyinternet ypour stats look broadly OK except for the line drops. I would reboot the hub at some convenient time as it has been running for nearly 2 months since it was last rebooted.

Check the cable to the phone socket and perhaps replace the line filter if you don't have a prefiltered face plate. It's worth running  Sky's line test as if that finds a fault it can book an engineer to check the line although I would be surprised if it does.

You can report the line drops to Sky yourself but unless there are lots (say more than 8 a day) don't be surprised if they say they cannot do anything. Also check to see if you hear crackles on the landline if you do report those as Openreach will sort those while ignoring line drops and in practice they often have the same cause.

Best of luck
