@Thomas2765 assuming the lights on the hub indicate it is connected see https://www.sky.com/help/articles/hub-lights-explained-start and other devices connect normally it sounds to it could be be a configuration issue with the laptop. It could be an IP address clash where the laptop has a fixed IP address that has not been reserved on the hub so is being given to another device. Ideally set the laptop to get its address details from the hub automatically or reserve the address on the hub
If the laptop is old you may want to buy a cheap usb WiFi dongle rather than using the built-in WiFi card but in any case try updating the driver for the card you use. Lastly move nearer the hub if the PC is out of range things will inevitably crawl.
