Internet connection keeps dropping, test says no issue but no internet

Internet keeps dropping.  There was 'improvement' work last week in my area. My Internet was off for almost 2 days - came back on on Friday but since then it keeps dropping. Alternates with no internet light on router to a flashing amber and back again, test says there is a problem then there isn't.  I wfh so causing real issues
