@Louiselowrie  You need to explin what you mean by internet cable ripped out of the wall?  By who?   You may need to call Sky to get this resolvbed which will be an SLA oif at least 2 working days from when you report it.

It's not going to be treat urgently by Openreach.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

Re: Internet cable ripped out of wall

It’s detached from the cable inside. It hasnt been ripped out by someone, I think it's the box itself has come away. When carefully unscrewing the box to look at it, the wires were totally detached. Is there a way of me sending you pics. If you can't help. Who can. We have no internet/tv etc and we already pay a fortune.

You aren't communicating with Sky by posting to this forum.  The Openreach target time to fix domestic faults is two working days starting the following working day morning after the fault is logged by the ISP.

@Louiselowrie

It might make more sense with a pic, which you can simply paste into a reply. But note that there are size limits.

@Louiselowrie

If you take it apart again there should be two wires connected to A & B on the back of the socket. That will either be a pair of screw terminals or a red push connector. They are all you need & the other wires don't need to be connected. If both wires are connected then your problem lies elsewhere.

If you have a microfilter licking around then it may be worth trying to connect to the test socket which is revealed when you unclip the front section.

@Louiselowrie although it is not dangerous doing your own fix (phone lines can carry 48volts DC so never touch the wires together) it is far better to report the isssue to Sky so they can get Openreach out to do a proper fix which should include a new master sockket. Their engineers will have seen and sorted far worse.

Re: Internet cable ripped out of wall

@Chrisee

My post was more intended to identify the somewhat dramatic "ripped" cables. I suspect they are simply the unused 2nd cable pair loose in the box.

Although if the wires have actually come adrift from the A & B terminals, quickly reconnecting them should get the OP up & running while waiting for OR/Sky  to fit a replacement.
