Mine stayed a solid 60mbs last night which usually happens maybe once or twice per week. Resolves itself around mindnight. Almost as if its traffic management. Did it return to normal after that? I would suggest avoiding the disconnect trick to test.

Openreach van is back this morning. Lets see if we get another disconnection.

So early mornings (6am ish) full speed, Evenings I lose 20 - 30 Mbps - Not ideal!
Some of this may be down to the servers running the speed test and beyond sky's control - just for clarification.

Down to about 28mb this evening. Is there anyway to escalate the congestion issues to Sky/Openreach?

Since Openreach started doing work on my cabinet I have noticed the past four or five evenings the speed seems to be much better. I have only seen it drop as low as 57mb from the usual 62mb which is good news and even then its possible somebody was streaming something in HD on netflix which would explain the dip. I assume that this is what an area uplift entails. The Fibre checker on BT now says avaialble as opposed to waiting list but the only package on offer is the 50mb as of now.

Looks like i spoke too soon. Tanked to 31mb this evening.

@AndyStubbs have you had any issues today? I had a disconnection around 2.30pm where my sync speed dropped nearly 2mb but my throughput on speedtest sites ahs remained as it was beforehand at 64mb?

Nope all been good today.

Just went down again around 12.20am. Took a few reboots and me manually disconnecting from the connectio nstatus page before it would resync

So upon checking the router status page this morning it appears to have performed a random resync at 2.30am this morning.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@AndyStubbs likely to be a routine housekeeping activity and nothing to be concerned about. 2.30am is typically the time the cabinet DLM resets to manage line conditions but also could be Sky forcing a change to the public IP address.

My speed has started to deteriorate this afternoon. I have been keeping an eye on the connection and it has been getting 63-64mb on speedtest sistes consitentnyl but now its getting around 55mb following multiple outages over the last 24 hours.

@AndyStubbsAny issues at your end?

No issues that I have noticed.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Fatmanp89 your stats show a stable connection for the previous 16 hours when the hub rebooted. Download is 71.5Mb/s and upload at 15.5Mb/s. The atrenuation and noise margins indicate a healthy line. Any loss of connection in the last 16 hours are likely to be on your home network not the external connection.
Speeds over a fast ethernet connection should be up to 65Mb/s after overheads but other devices using bandwidth or poor wifi can affect that. If you were on a smaller exchange contention (too many other users) could explain slower speeds but I have not seen reports of issues on London exchanges like Catford. If it is contention speeds should return in the morning and overnight.
Not a lot you can be done about contention but Sky are usually pretty good at increasing backhaul where exchanges get too busy.
