Intermittent and dropping connection to hub from phone

I am supposed to enjoy voip services with my new sky hub - the old hub was great broadband calls were not a problem but this new Sky Hub Max has been causing problems since I installed it. Sometimes it allows my phone to connect other times it can't find my wi if BUT it

always finds my neighbours sky hub! I thought it might need time to settle but it hasn't improved. Also the service

isnt reaching parts of my house that the old sky hub managed to reach. Like I say I can find my neighbours sky hub but mine chooses to go invisible. Ideas please

to resolve.

Re: Intermittent and dropping connection to hub from phone

Actually managed to get through to a human at Sky who has sent me a Sky booster box - installed it yesterday 7/12/24 and so far it seems to have improved wifi but still in the process of experimenting where the best place to put it is. One thing they either fail to mention or I ignored it when they said it - once you plug in the booster the light will flash while it updates its software and will keep flashing until its sorted itself out.

So my best tip - when you first get it plug it in close to your router while it updates its software - then once that's done move it to where you think it will best operate. You can keep moving it around until you find the best place to maximise the signal boost and it shouldn't need to update every time.

Having done this - so far all seems good and yippee I have my signal back where I originally had it and then lost due to my "uprated" Sky router - so I am actually back to where I was before I started the upgrade. Not sure if this is a winning situation - but hey that's progress.

I am being optimistic here, if the new booster continues to work as expected then I won't be posting back here again.

If it fails then as per Mr Schwarzenegger "I'll be back"
