Incorrect bill, agent told me to wait until next week when there is 50% off black friday deal

I agreed to a new 24 month 150mb broadband contract on 18th August for £23/month. The first bill was correct but last week I was charged £40 and all future bills show £40/month. I called Sky who said the 18th August price was not correct and they didn't have remit to correct. The agent said the best he could do was sign me up to a new contract and next week an email with 50% off will be going out for Black Friday bringing the cost down to £15/month.

 

This smells like total **bleep** to me but he repeatedly said that it was a legit offer due next week and I could cancel within the cooling off period if it didn't materialise.

 

Anyone know the best way to escalate this is? I am getting nowhere with the call centre and I just want my bill to be the agreed £23/month.

@pototea How did this all transpire to start with, if you called sky at the start then have them listen to the recorded call!

Yes I called 3 days ago and the agent told me they would listen to the call and I would hear back within 1-2 days but when I called again this morning I was told there were no notes on my file that I had called 3 days ago!

 

I called back again this morning and this time went through to retentions/cancellations who said they would escalate and I will hear back by next Thursday 30th. He confirmed the 50% offer next week was indeed **bleep** and agents don't know what the Black Friday deal will be.

@pototea Does not matter what the black friday deal is, your system was done, your first bill was as expected, and someone has went and cancelled ALL your discount's and thrown you on the full package price. Look closely at your bills past and in the future especially at the applied discount's!
