I have a Broadband contract ending in 2025. I would like to upgrade to full fibre, but my concern is it will start a new contract finishing September 2026. Is this the case?

Typically, yes: commissioning an FTTP connection has an up-front cost to an ISP which they need to know is covered.

In a move to migrate fttc customers to fttp in preparation of the 2027 pstn switch i believe sky are offering a move to the same package without recontracting . You may want to wait until sky proactively contact you or you may be able to get those deals by calling
