My VPN service (IPVanish) will not connect. It stalls on CONNECTING.
I have tried numerous devices, Windows, Mac, IOS, Android and the problem persists.
My first call was with IpVanish and they have been extremely helpful, but everything points to an issue with the Sky Broadband. To verify this, I used mobile data to connect with the same devices to the same VPN, using exactly the same setup and the connection to the VPN was instant and stable.
I have turned off the Sky Router for 30 minutes to reset - Same issues
I have turned off Sky Broadband Shield (it's been off for over 12 hours now) - Same issues.
Please can someone suggest a solution or can Sky technical investigate from their end.
Thanks!

When you powered down for 30 minutes did the public IP4 address change? Sky's IP addresses are quite sticky and an issue with your current address could cause an issue. Try disconnecting by using the option in the hub's web interface as that may kick in a change of IP address.

That's very helpful.
No, the IP address isn't changing after either a power down, or by resetting in the router control panel. I had assumed that the address would change.
Is there a reliable way to force an IP reassignment?
Also, is there a direct chat facility for getting in touch with SKy technicians? I couldn't find that.
All suggestions very welcome. Thanks again.

From another post on here I tried the following to force a new IP address.
If anyone has trouble finding the button, the full path is:
Maintenance --> Router Status --> Connection Status --> Disconnect (button)
This has changed the IP (quite substantially to a different 'first number') and this has allowed the VPN to connect.
I still don't understand WHY the problem presented itself however. Why would an IP address be problematic. IPVanish couldn't find a problem with the inital (faulty?) IP address.
