I want to switch to Full Fibre Broadband - The service provided by City Fibre is now live.
I have Sky's "Superfast" Broadband product which on a good day provides 22Mb. I am being offered 900Mb download for £28/mth.
I understand that I can now have the City Fibre Fullfibre product through Sky. I also know that the Fullfibre service is now live. So when will Sky makes this service avaiable to me?
As I am really frustrated by the appaling download speed that I currently experience.

Hi @KevB60
It would only be available to you when it shows as an upgrade in your account or if you called and asked.

Excellent and I appreciate that I can have Fullfibre when it is offered to me. My main issue is that I have a confirmation that as I a Sky VIP customer I can switch to Fullfibre now, I am aware that the fibre to my property is live and has been for more than four months. Unfortunatley it is not possible to get any further information from Sky's Customer Service Team and therefore I have raised a complaint. And I am desperate to sign up to Fullfibre as the 22Mb speed that I experience from my "Superfast Broadband" service which is advertised as a 61Mb average download speed is not good enough. Rant over. Just attempting to see if Sky are being proactive in moving all customers to Fullfibre where it is available.

As far as I know there is not currently any proactive upgrades happening with Sky, its down to the customer to ask for the upgrade or Sky to offer it when your contract comes to an end.
If FTTP is available to you then you should be able to upgrade while in contract, is Openreach FTTP available to your home or just CityFibre?

I'd note that while the Sky - CityFibre deal (Sky Ultrafast broadband over CityFibre optical infrastructure) was announced in August 2024, it was only due to take effect at some point in 2025: I don't believe a date has been given.
" Work is underway to ensure Sky’s Full Fibre Broadband will be available to people on the CityFibre network in 2025. "
It may well be that CityFibre service is now available at your address but only through CityFibre themselves or one of their current ISP partners, with Sky not yet having the necessary plumbing and back end systems in place.

I suspect what's advertised is the national average for the technology, which isn't the same as what's actually deliverable to a particular address. FTTC speed is almost entirely dependent on the distance signal travels over copper cable from the fibre cabinet to the individual property, and 22Mbs would be as expected at around 1400 metres.

It is only City Fibre who have provided fibre to my property.

In that case to get Sky Ultrafast you're waiting for the carriage arrangement to actually go live, which could well be much later this year

As mentioned then by @TimmyBGood you wont be able to upgrade with Sky until they start providing services over CityFibre. You'd need to cancel with Sky and take up an ISP who uses CityFibre as a carrier. If your in contract with Sky though you'll be subject to cancellation charges.
