I want to change my transfer date

I am moving from my current provider to sky. I want to change on the day before my next bill is due so that I don't waste money. My current provider said that all I need to do is call sky and ask to be transferred on the day I prefer. Problem is I can not get through to a human being on the phone and I don't know what to do. How can I change the date of my transfer?

@Chloe135 to be honest that is a pointless move as with most providers billing is generated 14 days before payment is due so you are going to have an overlap in paying both providers with your old provider eventually refunding you the difference 

 

the alternative is to have no service at all for a period of time as sky would have given up the first available activation slot at the time given to them by openreach
