I want Sky Fibre but don't want them to take over my existing broadband service

I want to add sky full fibre broadband to my property but to retain my existing broadband connection so that I have two broadband services to my house.

The online order service asks whether I want to switch service but the option to not switch is not there.

I spoke to the Sky help team who didn't understand the issues of resilience and redundancy and basically said its not possible to have two broadband services into the same house.

This seems crazy to me - has anyone achieved this?

@Adr2  Try the option of a New line when you order?

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

@Adr2

It's possible, but has to be done by phone and with particular emphasis that this is an additional broadband service on a second circuit, and not a 'switch' (which is always the default option)

Perhaps worth noting that there's only limited redundancy and resilience gained from a second Openreach ISP because the broadband will be running on adjacent hair-fine glass threads in the same four-core drop cable.
