I'm not sure Sky will make its activation date

Hi all,  my Superfast activation date (and Sky engineer appointment) is meant to be the 9th April 24, Openreach arrived 2 days ago and explained about the need to do some minor (the underground access is a metre from my drive) works.

He spent 30 mins with me explaining where cabling would run, where the CSP(?) would be positioned etc and that the actual cabinet was about 1km away- that's Cornwall for you i guess. I didn't see him again, I thought he was going to do it that day but he just seems to have made markings on the pavement and house.

My hub hasn't arrived yet,  Sky say it should be posted 3-5 days before activation so I'm hoping it's the weekend and not because they're not confident they're not going to make the activation date!

My question is, am I able to find out how Openreach are progressing, or what their plan is?

I know they have a backlog and I'm not a priority area,  the app just says its all going ahead but I've a feeling the necessary preceding groundwork is some way off.

If its a long timeframe, is it possible to just go onto a basic non fibre package and get online (previous occupants were on Utility Warehouse with the copper line)?

Thanks for any help!

G

Unfortunately not: this is a major flaw in the process where FTTP provisioning is delayed.  The problem is that an ISP would be charged twice by Openreach, and that's simply not accommodated in their subscription budgeting.
