I’m getting 10% of the speed I’m paying for even when I test with an Ethernet to router,
Hi,
im getting insanely throttled speed at home. I'm paying for 500mb/s and I'm lucky to get 50mb/s. I have tested via wifi at the router and in different areas of the home. So as the speed was terrible I decided to get a laptop and Ethernet to test the speed and it was still low.
this hasn't been a week or so issue this had been since the week after I upgraded 2 months ago, is there any reasons for this?

@JamieG1 thst speed test result is consistent with a 100Mb/s ethernet connection are you surectge connection supports Gigabit speeds? Check the network settings on the device.

Re: I’m getting 10% of the speed I’m paying for even when I test with an Ethernet to router,
Hi, even when I'm right by the router I can't get anything above 50-60mb/s on WiFi and when I go up stairs it's 20-40 mb, I was getting faster speeds previously when I was on a lesser deal. Something isn't adding up. It's a cat5 cable so I wasn't aware they're limited in capacity to 100mb/s I can try a cat6 ether net see if the results any different tomorrow.

Re: I’m getting 10% of the speed I’m paying for even when I test with an Ethernet to router,
Hi all, I have sorted this issue, it was my own stupidity surprise surprise...
I separated the 2.4 and 5.0ghz networks to allow smart devices on to the networks, when I combined it to one network again (I was connected to 2.4ghz) it is now at proper speeds. Sorry and thanks for your help.
