For several weeks my internet says "no internet connection" but I am connected and there is a communication, hence being connected?

today had sky engineers come over to sort out the issue but the problem still remains. What's more disturbing is that there is no WPA2 only the others that can be easily hacked. It's as if someone has created a reverse shell and successfully breached all of my accounts since most have been compromised and needed to reset them and change security questions not just passwords. **bleep** am I to do if there is no wpa2? And the fact the issue still remains. Not only that, chrome browser I'm staying clear of from now on because this browser has given permission to have old tokens steal my card details. Thank his I had Bitdefender

Where are you seeing no WPA2? All Sky hubs come with WPA2 as default

ya this default is greyed out, preventing me from logging into it. I cant access any sub menus from the drop down list either.

I swear its a reverse shell...someone has access to my network and duplicated most of my accounts cos they were all compromised and had to change not only passwords but my security questions etc

I've spoken to several experts outside of sky and I've had a sky engineer come out yesterday and I called up technical team today who spoke to other technical support team whilst being on the line with me and still the issue persists

Another concern is not seeing visually WPA2. Several weeks back this was not an issue and everything was normal. Several weeks later I get slow connections, long pauses when loading pages, flatline and black screen with no internet, Even though I'm connected

ive tried different browsers and I've reset the router more ways than engineers have done. I'm fully aware this is serious and wouldn't of posted if it wasn't. As for the allegations, I'm not accusing anyone or sky so it can't be classed as an allegation but rather a serious end point. What I mean by that is I will take my leave after being with sky for 17 years and have my own LTE industrial router with pfsense, kubernets or dockers and build my own vpn, browser,dns, cloud linode and a bunch of other permissions being accepted that skys router can't handle. Heck, I've been in a similar situation last year with sky but now it's official

Hi again, referring back to the engineer. She scanned the network did her generic route and custom checks but not resolving the issue there and then. For her the network was operational but fault diagnostics did not pick up any latencies. I also showed her and her partner screenshots  I've shown you but she advised me to change the password.

I always change the password every month or so to give myself a sense of security not necessary but for me I believe it works. I also change the pass phrase and the ssid. Again, personal preference

Oh, the VPN is not the issue. This worked long before several weeks back when I was compromised. If anything, the VPN is safe guarding me better than skys "no WPA2" option...

I believe RSN is WPA2.

OK, I’ve just looked it up.  To be fair, I only vaguely remember seeing it called RSN once before.

To cut a long story short, the IEEE faffed about so much that industry brought out its own standard and called it WPA2.  The IEEE then published 802.11i and called it RSN (Robust Security Network).  WPA2 is a particular implementation of RSN.  (I believe WPA3 is also an implementation of RSN).  Why Sky have started calling it RSN is beyond me.

As far as the Bitdefender alert goes, that’s just one of your web favourites forgetting to renew their certificate.  Happens all the time.  I’ve even been guilty of it myself when I was a working tech.  (Hey, I’d just taken over from someone else.  How was I to know the certificate would expire in 3 weeks’ time?  I don’t read minds.  Didn’t go down too well with the people I was working for though).

Any of the regulars want to jump in and correct on this?

Even now the router is creating further complications and leaving the network vulnerable. Scared anyone who sees my SSID will log on and bypass any true tokens leaving them false on re entry's

It's perhaps worth considering that unless an individual has seriously upset one of a handful of state entities around the world, 'hacking' as a targeted activity carried out by actual humans is essentially entirely theoretical.

Yes, there are automated attacks and malicious software distribution, almost all of which is financially motivated, but being targeted by real hackers is incredibly unlikely.

That's pretty much it really, WPA2 is a subset of the RSN implementation.

Some wifi analysers will label "WPA2-Personal" security as WPA2-PSK-CCMP or RSN-PSK-CCMP.

It's natural for 'superusers' to defend sky, and its cute you'll defend what's already broken, but enough is enough for me.

I've played the waiting game far to long and im confident where I end up next wont be as half bad. 

Kudos to 'Jamesn123' who's supported me and a few other super users. 

Keep up the good work you guys. If I dont respond anytime soon, you'll know im gone 😄
