I have a home move booked for next week but don't think the cable in the new house is fibre optic like my current line. They are planning to connect me through the line with no engineer visit how do I know if it's correct or not and who do I call to ask/tell them.
thanks in advance

It says ont exists. Starting to think previous occupants made off with it
Check around for anything like this
If they have made off with it openreach can only accept an order for a new one on installation day

That would tend to indicate a Superfast connection over FTTC.

Re: I have booked a home move and don’t think I have the correct cable in the new house.
If FTTP is available in the area you are moving to then this will be provisioned by an Openreach engineer on your install date.
If FTTP isnt available then this would be correct you'll get your connection through the existing phone socket.

Or at some point in the following few months, depending on personnel availability, equipment scheduling, blocked ducts, trees in the way...

Re: I have booked a home move and don’t think I have the correct cable in the new house.
The link which @cookiemonsteruk posted will show if there's FTTP in place, if it's available in the area but not yet installed at the address, or if there's only FTTC (or even ADSL) locally at present. Available but not yet installed carries a small additional risk during a Home Move, because if something delays FTTP deployment (as I alluded to above) then there's unfortunately no option to use FTTC while this is resolved, and a few unlucky forum posters have found themselves without any broadband service for a considerable time as a result.

Re: I have booked a home move and don’t think I have the correct cable in the new house.
Hello I am moving home on Friday 28th of June2024. My new home is a new build that is due to be completed in September. Can I put my account on hold from 28th of June until I can move into my new home. My new address comes up as an address on your list but then goes no further. It is not fully built yet.
