I had sky broadband installed yesterday and it’s not working

I had sky installed yesterday for broadband and as yet it has failed to work.  On my account it's saying there's a fault between the home exchange and my house, and it's being rectified within tje next 5 days.  Sky has been very unhelpful with providing detailed information and I am concerned how long this will actually take.  Is there any information I could be provided around this process and the likelihood that it will only take maximum 5 working days? I work from home so this is a major issue for me. I have lost faith in sky already and it's only day 2.

Unfortunstely @Emily06041 almost certainly they dont know exactly what is wrong and how long it will take to fix. The actual work will be done by Openreach who own the network from the exchange to your home. Activation of new accounts depend on the information about your line being correct sometimes it simple isnt unfortunately so an engineer has to go out find the problem and fix it..

Thanks so much for this information!  Frustrating to hear that it's not definite how long it might take but I really appreciate your response
