I don’t have a master socket in my house

I have ordered sky broadband to go with my tv package it was set to go live on the 15th however I do not have a master socket in my house as I was originally on Vodafone and have a different type of socket so not sure if I can plug my hub in

What type of socket do you have?

if you don't have a standard phone socket in your property you need to phone Sky and tell them. They will then be able to arrange for an OpenReach engineer to visit your property and install the socket.

please note OpenReach are independent of Sky so it could take several weeks to get an engineer visit.

To my knowledge Vodafone relies on the same Openreach network as Sky and most other providers, and use the same master phone socket. Perhaps you can post a picture of the socket and we'll be able to confirm.

@Mark39  I believe Vodaphone also use an Altnet called City Fibre which would confuse things somewhat.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

so certainly if @Megan32 has Fibre with Vodafone then its likely there is no master socket and she will need to arrange an OpenReach visit to get connected

@Megan32

Putting the address into the BT Wholesale Availability Checker should indicate which provisioning type is applicable.

It's the table and the two text lines below it which are most useful.

Remove any personal information (such as the address itself) if you post an image.
