I am unable to link my 2.4Ghz smart devices to my Sky Max router. Can anyone suggest a solution?

Hello, I recently received a new Sky Max router. The Sky engineer linked my smart phone and Chromebook to the wi-fi but since then I have not been able to link my smart lights or Octopus home mini. The devices are searching for the WiFi, without success. A Sky engineer I called suggested I turn off the 5Ghz using my Sky app and reduce the security setting but without success. My daughter used Bluetooth to link the smart lights. I am not sure how to link the home mini or any future 2.4Ghz device I may purchase in the future. Am I missing something obvious?

You couldn't do those things, or you did but doing so didn't improve the situation?
