Hub connection settings

Hi all. So bit of a niche one, hoping someone can help!

I have Arlo security cameras and they all worked fine until recently, now they cannot connect. I've been on with Arlo tech support and they think it's my network - even though nothing has changed! So I need to check a few things but don't know how:

1. Ensure ports 443, 123 and 80 are open on the router.

2. Make sure that DHCP is enabled

3. Please turn off MAC filtering on the router

4. Arlo devices support only the Wi-Fi Protected Access 2 (2WPA2) security protocol. WEP and WPA security protocols are not supported due to known security vulnerabilities. You can verify that in your router’s settings.

5. Check if the set channel on your router is not too crowded - if yes, it should be switched for different one (for 2.4GHz 1 / 6 / 11 channel they do not overlap each other and they should be the best ones).

Does anyone have any knowledge on how to check points 1, 2 and 3? I think I'm OK with 4 and 5.

Any advice gratefully received!

@Durbs1you can set up port forwarding on any Sky hub excluding the new Wifi Max using these instructions https://helpforum.sky.com/t5/Broadband-Talk/How-to-set-up-port-forwarding/ba-p/2662260

it is a fiddly process and for an easy life dont use any ios device to make the changes. If you have one use a wired PC running windows its quicker and easier..

Depending on your cameras you may need to split the 2.4GHz and 5GHz wifi bands as well see here Split Sky WiFi bands

DHCP is enabled by default and there is no mac filtering on the standard Sky hubs to worry about..

@Durbs1

Pretty critical information we need to know is if the cameras are either;

a. Connecting to the WiFi successfully but are not viewable via the app

b. Not connecting to the WiFi at all.

@jamesn123

They are not connecting to the wifi at all. If I create a hotspot from my phone they WILL connect to that network - hence Arlo saying it's my network that is at fault!

But one of the existing cameras (I have three of the same model) is still connected to the home network and works fine, I just cannot reconnect the other two that were previously OK.

Re: Hub connection settings

@Chrisee

Thanks - I have split the 2.4 and 5 ghz networks OK, still not connecting properly. And when they are split, my exisiting camera that DOES work, does not connect - it has to be the joint network for that one!
