Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@zam1965 you can't split the wifi babnds on the new Wifi Max hub. The best you can do is using the My Sky app is to turn off the 5GHz band connect the printer and then turn the 5GHz band back on and hope it works. Letvus know how you get on.

Have you tried splitting the WiFi bands on your router?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@zam1965 I have history with HP printers not connecting. I have found that a reset can often help as it clears the old settings. Failing that and splitting the bands connecting by a USB lead to a laptop or similar temporarily and updating the printers firmwar can help on some models the software asked if I wanted to use the wifi credentials of the laptop which saved a lot of issues. Then of course you can unplug the USB lead.

The problem is the printer will not connect wireless as it needs to be on line as its on the instant ink program, it's been reset a few times in conjunction with HP t3ch team, just it's frustrating as it worked ok using the black router, the new white one is causing a problem and sky have said its been getting calls on this matter

The problem has been the Sky shield, by disabling this addon it seem to function but I'm going to replace it with a hp printer that has dual WiFi and is able to function on wifi⁶

The final choice was to turn off the broadband shield and keep the sky max at the default settings.
Then it finally connected and has a stable signal it makes no sense that the shield now starts to cause problems. So thanks for the help

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@zam1965 That is an interesting fix to get your printer to be able to connect using the new Sky router. I take it does not matter what setting it is set at even on default that it will not connect without being switched off.
