How to use Sky Broadband Hub as Wireless Access Point which is connected to BT Hub via ethernet?
I got a new Sky Broadband Hub this year that Sky sent to me that I no longer need. Is it possible to use this as a wireless access point which is connected to my BT Home Hub via ethernet and how do I do it?
I've got ethernet cable from my BT Home Hub in our main house going into a seperate house in the back garden. There's no wireless signal there but I've got ethernet so I want to connect the wireless access point to the ethernet cable.

@DaveyMames It's not possible to do what you want, it's a hub, not an access point.
In fact if you no longer have Sky as your provider the hub should be returned to them as it's not yours to keep.
You need to buy a proper access point.

@DaveyMames it wont work properly as Sky hubs cannot be configured to work as access points. You can buy a third party access point for £30 to £40.
In any case check that Sky dont require the hub to be returned as if you dont they will charge you £50.

For anyone else looking to do this. Connect from LAN on your router to the WAN on the sky hub. Should be as simple as that. Worked for me

Re: How to use Sky Broadband Hub as Wireless Access Point which is connected to BT Hub via ethernet?
This is incorrect cableing up. Although it might work but it will not work as one network. When creating an A/P it's from your main internet router cable up from LAN to your second router LAN. You must disable DHPC in set up on your second router, set SSID and password. It is best to keep SSID different so you know which router you are bouncing off, but keep the passwords the same to avoid confusion. Configuring your second router away from your main routers IP address. Make sure you have SSID and your password are correct. Because you need to save the configuration. This will prevent you getting back to the second router, unless you do a complete reset. If you have created the A/P configuration correctly you will have just one DHCP and no connection issues. To check this connection log in to your new A/P and connect to 192.168.0.1 which is your sky router IP. The second router is now an A/P. You will have three more hard wired ports and WiFi caperbility

@Marty+wild its a lash up as however you configure the second hub it is not going to work properly as an Access Point. Given you can buy APs quite cheaply it is pretty pointless.

I needed the 3 hard wire connection on a A/P. A WiFi extender is not the same thing

It does work perfectly if you disable DCHP on both. I have two routers connections to my sky hub and the system work a# one connection to the internet

@Marty+wild you can buy wifi access points with ethernet ports. You cannot disable the Sky hub's router operationeven if you turn off its DHCP server etc so networking issues are quite likely.
