Openrach/Fibrus have recently upgraded the line in our area with fibre connection now available from the cabinet to poles - but there is no onward connection from the poles to the houses - anyone any idea how to get a fibre line into a domestic dwelling - can it be done by your current internet provider or can the connection only be made by Openrach/Fibrus?

It's ordered through the current ISP (or a new one) but installed by Openreach or the altnet provider.

Fibrus is unusual in being an altnet that has a carriage deal with Openreach.

Find out moreAs long as its an Openreach line that Sky can use then you just need to place the upgrade order with Sky and the rest will be dealt with for you. Note that availability on Sky's systems can take some weeks to appear after the pole has been upgraded.
If its something that Sky can't use e.g. exclusive to Fibrus then you'd need to move to them, if your in contract with Sky this would mean penalty charges to come out of said contract.
