How to connect a wi-fi canon printer to my sky wi-fi router?

@neeyah  Have you followed the canon printer setup guide 1st?  What issues are you having?

Some printers require exclusive access to 2.4ghz wifi. You may need to seperate the wifi bands

- Log onto router and go to wifi
- Go to 5ghz band and untick synchronise 2.4ghz and 5ghz
- Go to 5ghz ssid and add -5g at the end
- Save
- Go to individual devices and assign wifi band accordingly

The printer instructions are useless it's had to connect when your on your own. it says you need a wpk2 whatever thing & it's hard to link

WPA2-PSK, probably, and all the in-support Sky Hub models do that.

Splitting and renaming the SSIDs, as advised above, is almost certainly the solution.

Did the job nicely! Canon's troubleshooting is next to useless, since we tried connecting using the PC, the smartphone app and manually connecting as well as WPS. Once we got into the router settings and decoupled the 2.4GHz and 5GHz settings, it worked first time on WPS! Thanks @cookiemonsteruk

Typically by using a device connected over ethernet, or at least not Safari on an iThing which is the least reliable with the Hub admin pages.

I tried on google chrome too no luck! So annoying not sure what else I can do

Before changing any settings on the router I suggest putting the printer close to the router (e.g. in the same room) and trying again. 

I couldn't connect when the printer was upstairs in my office but when I moved it into the same room as the router downstairs it connected no problem.

My Canon printer has been successfully linked to my old Sky router. I have a new Sky router and I cannot get the printer to talk to any of my iPhone , iPad or laptop. 
any ideas to the solution? Thanks
