How to change wifi channel on Sky Max Hub
I've just upgraded from Sky Broadband to Sky Fibre, and have a Sky Max Hub, which is in exactly the same location as the previous router was. The thing is though, the wifi signal is a lot weaker which means that it doesn't extend nearly as far as it did on the old router.
When I had this problem with the old router I could change the broadcast channel for the WiFi, but it doesn't look as if I have that option here. Am I doing something silly?
TIA

Re: How to change wifi channel on Sky Max Hub
@Hendo73 you cannot manually change channels on the Sky Wifi max hub but it should find the best channel automatically you can force it do that by rebooting the unit
In my own tests I found the range of the white hub was very similar to the old black Sky Broadband hub (SR203) but as every home is different you may not get the same result. This is particukarly true if you have Sky Q boxes as they no longer act as wifi repeaters. If you are paying for the WiFi Max add-on Sky should provide an extender pod if you dont have usablecwifi in every

No, it's locked down by design. The only way to do it is with a factory reset of the Hub. I posted this as a means of separating SSIDs, but it should also work for manually setting channels. But download a WiFi analyser first to check which channels are least congested. If the auto selection is working, then manually selecting will make no difference.

But the range of these things is pretty hopeless regardless. Contray to @Chrisee's findings, my testing shows the SR213, or at least the one I was sent, to provide a significantly weaker signal than anything else I've ever used. I get a stronger signal from neighbour's routers two doors away than I do with the SR213. The number of posts here that complain of reduced signal when moving from another supplier or changing from an earlier device suggest it's the router that's the issue

@FLC have to agree to differ on range I can only go by the results of my own a/b testing.
