How to change Sky Fibre 5 Ghz SSID

Hello

This morning I've completed the installation of my Fibre Broadband, and everything is up and running nicely.  Once the engineer had gone, pretty much the first thing I did was change the SSID so that it was the same as our old router and saved me the hassle of having to reconfigure everything.

I'm confused about something though: because the router is now administered through the My Sky app, I went on there to change my SSID and thought all was good.  However when I review the configuration settings on my router it looks as if the change has only affected the 2.4Ghz channel and not the 5Ghz one.  I'd like to be able to have both the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz channels using the same SSID so that the devices that are capable of communicating on the 5Ghz channel can do so without needing to be reconfigured.

Is this possible?  Am I doing (or not doing) something monumentally silly?

Thanks in anticipation.

If the app has assumed control, you can't without a factory reset.

But that's very odd because as I said, the two bands being synchronised is the default setting. So changing one would (should) automatically change the other. Maybe leave it overnight & see if it's sorted itself out in the morning.

What you desire is the default setup, so unless you've specifically separated the bands, that's what you should have.

If you're lucky, the router will not yet be fully integrated into the app & may still be changeable via the web interface. It normally takes a day or so for the app to take control. Enter 192.168.0.1 into a web browser & log in with username admin & the WiFi password. Check that both bands are set to synchronise.

I didn't specifically separate the bands.  When I first set up the hub I was able to change the SSID for the 2.4Ghz channel through the web interface, but I think by the time I realised that I also needed to change the SSID for the 5Ghz channel, the app had taken over, so I'm not sure if that's caused the separation.

Where would I go in the web interface to separate/unify the channels?

Re: How to change Sky Fibre 5 Ghz SSID

I decided that since I was in the house myself and therefore wouldn't be interrupting anyone else, I would do the factory reset, so I followed the URL you shared and followed the instructions.

I've now got both channels operating on the SSID that I want them both sharing, and can already see that the 5Ghz-enabled devices are communicating on that channel, so thanks very much for the assistance.
