Re: How to add 2.4GHz on my Wi-Fi
All current Sky Hub models broadcast both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz signal by default. The older 2013 model is 2.4Ghz only.

Re: How to add 2.4GHz on my Wi-Fi
Hi, thanks for your reply.
I saw an answer on a previous post about making the sky box show two different options when connecting to the internet, one option being 5GHz and the other being 2.4GHz so that it's easier to select the correct one. Do you know how I do this? I can't connect anything that needs 2.4GHz with my current set up, my Wi-Fi is only a few months old.

Re: How to add 2.4GHz on my Wi-Fi
Is yours a white or a black Sky Hub?
Unsynchronizing and renaming the bands isn't possible on the white Max Hub.

Note that this process does not apply to the new (white) Max Hub
So to split the two channels you need to go to your router config page which can be found by typing 192.168.0.1 into your web browser.
To access the page, you'll need;
username: admin
password: sky OR your WiFi password
- Select wireless from the navigation bar and scroll down a little and untick the 'Synchronise 2.4GHz and 5GHz settings'
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and hit apply.
- Once the page reloads you need to go to the 5GHz wireless settings page on the sub navigation bar below where you click wireless before
- In the 5GHz section you want to go to the box called 'Name (SSID)' and add something like 5g to the end of the current name
- Scroll down and hit apply
- Then on any wireless device you should now see two networks. One network will be the same name as usual and will be 2.4GHz band and the other will be the usual name with 5G on the end (Or whatever you typed). Connect any 5GHz capable device to the 5GHz network and see if it works correctly. The WiFi password should be the same if you havent changed it.

@DGMC97 the user name is always "admin" without the quotes.

The username is included in the instructions, its 'admin' thats it, not an email or anything else.

I have followed the instructions as best I can but when I click apply after unticking the synchronize button my network drops and can't seem to do anything. Any suggestions?

Re: How to add 2.4GHz on my Wi-Fi
@Ciaran88 if you are using a devicecconnected by wifi as soon as you apply the chsnges you will lose the connection as the hub shuts down and restarts the wifi. Think of it being like sawing off the branch you are sitting on. That is why any changes to WiFi settings is best done using a device connected by Ethernet.
You can make the changes using a wifi device but dont be surprised when you apply the changes your device loses its connection for a few minutes its totally normal. You may have to reconnect if you have renamed the band that the device happened to be using.
