Hi!
We've been waiting now for almost 2 weeks for openreach to connect our property to the fibre network and we have a feeling that this will take a while.
Sky says it's the openreach responsibility to do the job and they will only update us by text messages basically postponing everything without a clear answer on how long it will take or if they will be able to to it.
The engineer who installed the hub said it will take up to 10 days but likely it will happen within 5 days and now it's been 2 weeks.
Any ideea how long will this take? Anyone experience something similar?
Cheers

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@OldacreR it purely depends on what work is required and availability of the crews who do the work.
I am in the process myself and was intially told it would happen on 28/10 around 6 weeks from when I ordered but that could change as a survey was required. That happened last week when an engineer rang the doorbell after dark one evening. He and I looked at what needed doing by torch light and he reported back that a dig was required.
The Sky date disappeared from the My Orders section of My Sky app. Earlier this week I got called by Openreach saying a crew was coming today to do that work which is actually a strike day so I dont know if that will happen or not. Once that is done I should get a date for the install. Patience is required unfortunately.

I've been waiting 5 months for Openreach to connect a copper cable from my house to "My Network" (as it says on their vans). And I'm in a town.
I see that they are recruiting atm, which got me thinking....
I could train as an Engineer and qualify to do my own install. It might be the quickest solution.
