I upgraded and paid extra to have parental control, today I paused my sons (19yo) devices, few hours later I catch that he's playing online games, ive triple checked the sky app and all his devices says paused, and I don't see any other devices connected. How has he managed it? Has he bypassed it or is it not working?

If your son has a mobile phone contract is it possible that he has tethered his mobile data to his computer as this would be on a different WiFi connection

He does have a mobile yes, couldn't tell you if he's contract or not because he's 19 and isn't very open about what he has, is mobile data strong enough to play competitive mulitiplayer? His phone is paused on the parental control app so I assume he's not using my Internet, could a vpn allow him to bypass the control? Surely it would come up as an unknown device connected to the hub if he had

The data he would have with his mobile contract would be enough to allow online gaming. It's basically the same as your router WiFi for speeds. Not sure about VPN. I just know that have used my own mobile data hot-spot to allow my son to tether to his computer when I had no Internet before. Hope this helps
