How do I find out when my time slot is?

I have an 8-1pm slot for a new sky broadband installation on 17th December. How can I find out where I am on the engineer's list. It wouldn't be a problem otherwise but I have a hospital appointment in the afternoon and need to ensure I can get away on time.

That's almost impossible to answer as a job earlier in the day could be problematic and delay the engineer. 

You could leave a responsible adult at the address if you need to leave, because changing the appointment at this late stage will almost certainly result in a £25 charge.
