Got replacement Hive Hub. Still the same. Called Sky and factory reset the SR203. No connection from hub still. Syslog shows line up then down in a second. Tried different port as well.
Sky can't see anything wrong but when I tried the online line check it said there was a fault. But Sky support guy said everything is clear. Has to be the Hive doesn't it ? But why ? Hive 2nd line support will take 3-6 days to get back to me. Not impressed by that at all

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreSo just to confirm you've done;
1. New Hive unit
2. New ethernet cable
3. Different port on the Sky hub
4. Changed ethernet mode to fast on the Sky hub
5. Disabled Sky Shield on your account

Absolutely James
everything is telling me there is something wrong with the Ethernet protocols in the Hive Hub. Maybe a faulty programmed batch ? If it could be reflashed that would be handy but with no connection.......
Tempted to buy one from John Lewis and try that

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreIts a very odd one. Last thing I can suggest is disabling IPv6.
Can you post the syslog also?

Interesting
I thought about IPv6. I'll turn it off and try
I'll do a screen shot

Yeah that advice came from the hive advice forum relating specifically to sky Router and Hive (advice from Hive themselves I believe) I simply followed that advice which I have now unfollowed and Hive have done a diagnostics and it's now working

So I've disabled the IPV6 firewall and the LAN TCP/ipv6
just retrying Hive hub

Not sure if you can read this

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreYour syslog still points towards a port or cable fault

I know. It's such a basic error at such a fundamental level. I'm going to try another known good cable. Tried other ports.
This type problem throws up many red herrings but I'm always willing to try and got help is much appreciated.

So I've tried two known good cables. Plugged them into port one which I know is a good port
initially I got solid as her an green light at the port for 15 seconds. I though, hello, the green data led will start pulsing and I'm away.
No such luck. Both lights went of and at increasing length of time flash on and off. The amber connected light doesn't stay on. So this has to be the Sky Q SR203 but I'm now struggling to see why. Or something is wrong with the LAN firmware in the Hive.
As I said before maybe a batch problem. There seem to be quite a few customers raising queries on their website at the moment so who knows. As much as I hate being beaten I'm going to return it.
Again, I appreciate your help a lot

Sorry I meant to say this has to be the Hive Hub both the Sky router
22 Oct 2021 05:40 PM
My typing is bad today
has to be the Hive hub NOT the Sky Router ?

Hi,
We're having the exact same problem with our hive hub, currently on the second unit and the first didn't connect to either our internet our a family members BT internet either. Looking more and more like a faulty batch if you ask me. is the Model ID on the back HUB500 by any chance? @1topgazza

Not sure as it's all boxed up but I think the odds are pretty good I think. I tried mine again on next doors BT router and it didn't connect either. I suspect a badly flashed bunch as well. Going around the various forums it seems to be a very common problem at the moment.
It wouldn't take much to fail. Wrong country code, incorrect handshake protocol or simply corrupted data. Bit of a poor show from Hive though
