Hive View Cameras - Sky Max Broadband

Recently had Sky Max broadband installed - moved from Vodafone. First impressions of the router are actually pretty impressive with the coverage in the house.

only issue I am having is using our existing Hive View cameras. They worked (and still do) on our old Vodafone router with 4g backup but I can't seem to get them to show a live view when connected to the sky router/access point.

I'm guessing it's some form of security restriction somewhere but I'm struggling to find any help with settings that need changing or ports opened etc. any help much appreciated.

I am able to access the recorded clips from the cameras although I'd say the download time is much longer than before - I'm also conscious that these devices have now been discontinued by Hive and this may be part of the issue but I don't plan to replace them until next year sometime so would be good to get them working again in the short term.

thanks

Re: Hive View Cameras - Sky Max Broadband

I'm having exactly the same problem. Tried a reset but still the same. No live view.

Re: Hive View Cameras - Sky Max Broadband

I have tried the reset and that didn't do anything. Glad I'm not the only one - just a bit frustrating that I can't figure out a fix. I've tried DMZ settings as well as turning off the advanced security. Nothing seemed to work.

I wasn't sure if I needed to open up certain ports but can't find anything online.

@SGP & @Swoods88 suspect as Hivexare in the process of removing support it could becan issue at their end. You should not need firewall ports opening certainly dont for other Hive products.

Re: Hive View Cameras - Sky Max Broadband

I will reach out to them but as I say - it works fine on my old router/network. The issues only started when I connected them to my new Sky max router.

@Swoods88 therevis no logical reason why it wont link but given Hive are pulling support from the app next year is it worth the effort?

Re: Hive View Cameras - Sky Max Broadband

Hi

Just wondering if you found a fix please, I'm experiencing the same problem.

Hive WebChat said they would look into it and get back to me.

I notice you said they are pulling support for the cameras, I did not know this!  Does this mean the cameras will be unusable? From when? I wasn't planning on replacing them!

hope to get a response from someone. Thanks.

@hc01

Hive cameras are already unsupported & are scheduled to cease to work in August.

Re: Hive View Cameras - Sky Max Broadband

Hive are looking into this but I don't have a fix yet.

Have just tried (on their advice) The following pets in Port Forwarding on the SkyGo App.  Frustratingly, it briefly worked and then stopped.  In thought someone here might have some more ideas:

The ports a Hive View requires are:

Video Stream: Ports 50000/50001 TCP
Audio Stream: Ports 50002/50003 TCP
MQTT Server: Port 8883 TCP
Time Server/Config Server/Certificate Authorisation: Port 443 TCP

Re: Hive View Cameras - Sky Max Broadband

Didn't seem to work for me... shame as this worked fine until I changed Internet provider to Sky!!
