Help with full fibre speed and bad picture on my 3l oled tv
I have recently brought a fancy new 65 inch led uhd 4K tv I've had sky over 10 years but have sky. Q. I also changed to full fibre to the property called full fibre 300. I wanted the stream bar and pucks but they talked me out of it and said it'll all be great etc etc and away u go. 2 weeks on I have intermittent issues with the hdmi ports going off. Sound not comming out of the dts bar. Picture quality for any apps or playback on demand or just using the tv is rubbish. I presumed faster internet would help the 4K picture be better and all will be fabulous. However now I am disappointed. Also the speed tests I randomly do around the house on another device never neither of them get above 123 and 40 upload. I no having only 300 full fibre isn't the top one but surely enuf for two people with a swanky tv and phones each and iPads I am paying more for this then ever before and feel I am being let down. I've heard the old hubs aren't even updated anymore so can't handle the full fibre. Oh I am so confused and don't no what to do say or even how to get answers sorry guys I need u to help me. Old bird in desperation thank you

Re: Help with full fibre speed and bad picture on my 3l oled tv
@Wendywllen there appears to be two separate issues
Firstly the WiFi speed around your property will inevitably vary but 120Mb/s is enough for the vast majority of activities as most apps cannot use 100Mb/s in normal usage. Poor WiFi coverage is probably the most common question we get in the forum. In many homes a single Sky hub cannot provide a usable wifi signal in every room due to the layout and type of construction of the property especially in older homes. Assuming the hub is in the best possible position which is out in the open on a surfsce then the only answer is additional wifi sources.
Your choice.is to either buy Sky's add-on WiFi Max bundle which can supply up to 3 extenders see https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-wifi-max or buy your own wifi system and use that instead of the Sky hub's WiFi.
The second issue with your new TV and sound bar are not directly related to Sky Broadband. The maximum data required to stream UHD tv is under 50Mb/s but as important as bandwidth is stabiility but assuming the TV is reasonable near the hub there shouldn't be an issue. issues with HDMI ports going off etc sound like the set has not been set up correctly. Only a Sky Q main box can output in UHD this page explains how to set up your Q box https://www.sky.com/help/articles/setting-up-ultra-hd. Posting in the Sky Q forum with the makecand midel of TV you have dhould get you more help.

Re: Help with full fibre speed and bad picture on my 3l oled tv
Hi thanks for the advice. The hub is in the hall next to the ont unit and my tv and sky q box is in the living room. They aren't that close and I presume it's using wife to stream data hence poor picture. I have no idea about all this it's driving me mad. I paid a fortune for a super duper 4K uhd and all the extras in sky fir uhd etc but picture is shocking **bleep** and I'm oussed off

Re: Help with full fibre speed and bad picture on my 3l oled tv
@Wendywllen you can buy a longer Ethernet cable to link the hub to the ONT but unless your home has very solid internal walls and the hub is out in the open above obstructions like a radiator being in the hall on the same floor should allow reasonable WiFi signal strngth in your lounge on the same floor
It is not clear what source you are trying to view in UHD/4K is it your main Sky Q box or the TV's own apps? Also it isnt clear quite what is wrong with the picture to make it "shocking". The symptoms of a poor WiFi signal is the programme buffering ie the pucture breaking up and often going to a black screen. While playing the picture should be perfect you can test the speed to the device mannaging thecstream by going into the Netflix app finding the Get Help menu and running their network test you need a speed higher tgan 25Mb/s to stream in UHD.
Modern TV's have multiple menus which can be confusing and it is possible to have a bad picture because these are set up poorly. Would it not be sensible to pay a local company to come out and optimise your new set up?
