Having problems with my broadband and my partner has a health condition

My broadband has been out for over twelve hours. We live in the countryside where there is no mobile signal therefore we have no means to communicate even in an emergency. I have had to drive five miles to get a signal to send this message. Sky say it could take 48hours to work on the outage. My wife has a heart condition and this gives me some concern. Sky sent a message which somehow came through at around 9.29am around nine hours after the initial outage with no update since. Pretty bad when Sky are raking in millions and probably won't offer any compensation for services not supplied specially to local businesses that will by now be losing money. Can't see why it should take up to 48hours unless there is some kind of issue that is posing a risk to our data.

Hi @SteveC9

A broadband outage thats local rather than widespread is likely to need Openreach to investigate and fix a physical fault. Sky have no control over this and Openreach provide an aim of fixing issues within 2 working days but this can take longer.

I understand it can be frustrating and distressing if you have no other line of communication but generally there is nothing Sky can do for you, especially if there isnt any mobile signal in your area.
