Have received Wifi Booster but the lights only come on then switch off

I have very little wifi in my office which is next door to the main router (3 metres away round a corner).  There is a plug socket on the hallway which I have bought an extention lead and its in the middle of the hall.  The green light comes on and goes off, then the blue light comes on for 3 seconds and goes off.  Wifi is still shocking, please can i ask advise, is the Wifi booster broken as tried it all over our flat as the lights dont work like the video shows?

@MrsDixon73 the lights on the Sky Max pod go off when it is connected so it sounds to be working correctly. The speed the pod can deliver depnds on the of its connection to the hub. 3m of air pose no issues for wifi signals but throw in a solid wall or two and the story is quite different and just like light radio waves don't go round corners so you are relying on reflections.

Try moving the extender to a position so there is a decent path to the hub and your desk area and allow thexset up to optimise which can takec24 hours.
