Has anyone connected a yale all in one camera to their sky router?

Unfortunately I can't get my new yale all in one camera to connect to my router. I've separated the signal, made sure my phones connected to 2.4ghz and also turned the broadband shield off but still cannot get the camera to connect. Has anyone got the same camera and has had success connecting it? I'm I missing something?

@darthtatermtbHave you tried to bring the camera close to the router to see if it will connect?

@darthtatermtbDoes the app or camera even see the Wi-Fi network in order to connect or does it not see anything at all?

Re: Has anyone connected a yale all in one camera to their sky router?

  • @Highlinder The app picks up the wifi asks for the password then you have to play a recording of a bird tweeting (which has some kind of sonic wave or something in the recording) to the camera mic which somehow connects it to the wifi. I've tried an android and apple phone to see if my 4yr old phone is duff but it just times out and doesn't connect. In theory it should be straight forward but as always the simple things are the hardest. I've read of other having trouble connecting wifi cameras on here to the sky router, it just feels like I'm missing something 🤔😄

Re: Has anyone connected a yale all in one camera to their sky router?

  • @Highlinder yep had a little look I can't find anything specific to the yale but did find other people who have had issues with other cameras and the sky router. I'm pretty sure it's just something simple I'm missing not been  major tech savvy, like a  box I've missed checking on the router menus to allow it to be seen by the camera but I don't want to fiddle to much and **bleep** the router up. Cheers for the input all suggestion will be taken on board👍

@darthtatermtbThis may not work, but might be worth a try. How is your broadband shield set. This can be found in my account, Broadband & talk. As by default it is set to PG-13.

Re: Has anyone connected a yale all in one camera to their sky router?

  • @Highlinder it was set to 18 but turned it off too and that didn't work. That was a suggestion from another conversation on here too. I'm not sure if there's some anti-virus or firewall I need to temp shut down within the McAfee but I never set that up so not sure on access of that. It's just frustrating that it should but won't connect🤦‍♂️

@darthtatermtbOnly other thing could suggest if you know someone who is with a different ISP to see if it will connect on their broadband, or someone else with Sky to try connect the camera there.

Re: Has anyone connected a yale all in one camera to their sky router?

  • Cheers @Highlinder for your time, I might try on my dad's sky router later in wk. I've also found a thread about doing a router reboot after changing settings from within the router menu rather than just powering it off to reset I might give that a whirl too. Be interesting to see if any other people on here have the same camera and got it working OK. Thanks again👍

Re: Has anyone connected a yale all in one camera to their sky router?

@Ibbiis yes, after trying it on other networks I finally contacted yale on the phone, they tryed a few things over the phone non of which worked so they replaced the camera.

The new camera connected straight away I can't exactly remember if I had to turn the 5ghz signal off on the router menus (it was a while ago) and connect via the 2.4ghz but I think this was likely as I connected a wifi oven that ran on 2.4ghz the same way later in the year.

Hope this helps
